Rosalie grew up in New Zealand and moved back to the UK settling in Devon and studied Art & Design in College. Relocating to Cardiff for University, Rosalie studied Illustration before gaining a tattoo apprenticeship in Newport.

Following 3 years in a Cardiff studio, Rosalie then decided to open up a private tattoo studio in Caerphilly for the last 5 years. Now Rosalie is embracing working back in a tattoo studio with other artists, inspiration and a tattoo community.

Rosalie joined Atig Tattoo in April 2026.

Most topical anaesthetic’s aren’t approved & authorised by the medicines and healthcare products regulatory agency. For the products that are approved & authorised, some are not recommended for use on broken skin. Allergic reactions can be common with numbing creams. therefore, preventing you from being tattooed at your appointment!

𝗧𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆
Topical anaesthetic’s affect skin texture which makes it more difficult to tattoo. This can cause ink to fall out and the area to be overworked, leading to scarring and poorly healed tattoos. Tattoos are expensive, personal and important to clients, why risk permanent scarring or tattoos you may not be happy with?

𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳
We understand that pain can cause concern for some of our clients, but numbing creams do not always last. So what is the drawback? your body will build adrenaline during a tattoo, when a topical anaesthetic is applied this won’t happen. meaning you’ll go from feeling nothing to everything!

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆
We are unable to tattoo any client that arrives to their appointment having applied a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) and any paid deposit will be lost

Getting a tattoo in winter actually has some real advantages both for healing and comfort. Here are the main benefits:

𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦
- Less sweating: Sweat can irritate a fresh tattoo and increase infection risk. Cooler temperatures help keep the area clean and dry.

- Lower bacteria exposure: Winter generally means fewer bacteria in the air compared to hot, humid months.

𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
- Loose layers work well: Sweaters, hoodies, and jackets (when not rubbing tightly) protect tattoos from dirt and sun.

- Less sun exposure: UV rays can fade fresh ink and slow healing. Shorter days and more covered skin reduce this risk.
